So... how do I edit?????

1. Open the Q Menu by long pressing on the Q on the top left corner of the screen
2. Under App Mode, choose "Edit".  This will put you in Edit Mode!

1. Edit Mode

This is where you start out.  You can navigate the system as you normally would.  Folders will open and buttons will pop up options

Hopefully, everything is self explanatory.   In case they are not:

This is a placeholder (or empty spot).  Tapping on this is will initiate a Search Form to find the button / folder / system button you want to place into that spot.
Tapping on a button will bring up edit options for the button

NOTE: Duplicating a button or folder will place the new item in the nearest available placeholder in the current folder. If there are no placeholders in the current folder, the new item will not be placed anywhere. The item will still be created. You just have to search for it when you find a spot to put it in.

Tapping on the    on the top right corner of a folder to show edit options for the folder
Take note: there are row and column numbers (!!!!) to help keep button placement consistent.

See here for more details on How to Edit a Folder or Button

2. Rearrange Mode

Here is our starting point.  As an example, we want to move the button AAC to the bottom row.
1. Select Hide/Show mode. We've grayed out the cells you cannot tap on.

2.  Tap on the item you want to move.
3. Now tap on the spot you want to move the button to.  In this case, we'll choose a placeholder.

If you chose another button instead of a placeholder, this action would swap the buttons.

If you tapped on the wrong button, just tap the X at the top left corner.
3.  Now the item has been moved and you can choose another item to move or...
...go into Normal mode to see what the folder looks like after the edit.

Some things to note about Rearranging mode:

  • Be very careful in this mode.  Tapping on System buttons or folders will SWAP the placements.
  • If you want to move an item outside of the current folder, just navigate the folders by using the    on the top right corner.

3. Hide/Show Mode

Simply put, this is how you mask items in the grid.  Just tap on the item and it will cycle through the different Hide/Show modes

Hide/Show modesWhat QVoicer will see (Normal mode)

If you are advanced, check out how to use this feature in Sessions.  It's where you can plan ahead to target words on QVoice during your sessions.

4. Normal Mode

Simply put, this is a way to check out what the grid looks like when you're not in Edit Mode.  All the editing markup tools are hidden.  You can navigate folders like you normally do.  Tapping on buttons will automatically speak it.  Really, test out the system before you exit Edit Mode.
