Sessions (Masking)

Before continuing, read the section on hiding and showing buttons.

A Personal Note from the Founder:

I created this feature to make communication less overwhelming in key moments. For therapy, it lets you mask out visual clutter to focus on a single target word. For outings, you can create a simple 'Playground' page so a new user isn't overwhelmed by folders. And for tough moments, it can provide a simple phrase like SORRY MAMA to offer a clear path to reconnecting. It’s a flexible tool to provide focus when it's needed most, but remember the long-term goal is always a full vocabulary.
I needed to cut the clutter, but crucially, I couldn't break her learned motor plan.  That’s the magic of 'Sessions.' It doesn't move or rearrange anything. It simply hides the buttons you don't need, while keeping the target words in their original, learned positions.  It reduces visual noise without sacrificing motor learning.  And It's QUICK!

How Sessions Work: Hides surrounding buttons without changing the layout. This cuts visual clutter while preserving the user's motor plan and muscle memory.

QVoice's Sessions feature allows you to save the precise visibility state of every button within your folders. This is incredibly useful for tailoring the app's interface to specific contexts, including targeted learning. For example, you can create a "Colors" session where only the words having to do with colors are visible. Even more powerfully, you can plan these learning sessions in advance, adjusting button visibility on your own time, without requiring access to the user's device. The ability to mask buttons through Sessions is key to reducing visual clutter, creating a focused environment that supports effective word learning.
