Remote Access

Modified on Sat, 7 Jun at 2:20 PM

With QVoice's Remote Access, communication partners can securely view the AAC user's app screen in real-time on a separate device. This allows for direct observation of their interactions, making it an invaluable tool for providing informed guidance, support during Telehealth, and understanding their communication process.

1. Open the Q Menu by long pressing on the Q on the top left corner of the screen
2. Tap on Remote Access.
3.  Choose the device you want to mirror or access remotely.
Voila!  You're in!  The experience is like sharing one device with the QVoicer, without physically being in front of their device.

You'll be able to
  • see what folder is opened on the QVoicer's device.
  • open a folder and the same folder will open on the QVoicer's device
  • tap on a button to speak immediately on your device (nothing happens on the QVoicer's device)
  • initiate a search (nothing happens on the QVoicer's device)
  • add hints (hints show up on both your and the QVoicer's devices)

Remote Access aims to foster the QVoicer's independence by reducing a communication partner's need to hover or physically prompt, while also allowing providers to observe real-time device usage for informed support.

Remote Access provides crucial in-the-moment support. For example, when I was driving and the QVoicer in the back couldn't find a word she needed, I used Remote Access to see her screen and guide her to it immediately from my seat.
