We take data collection seriously. That's why QVoice comes prepared with the tools to record and view data in any number of ways.

Remember reading about the two speaker modes in QVoice in this article? Usage log is why that is important.
- QVoicer Mode - what the AAC user operates in
- Model Mode - what everyone else uses
Why is this important?
For providers, it offers valuable insights into how the AAC device is used outside of therapy sessions. This data can reveal how communication partners are modeling language. For instance, an SLP might observe if partners are using language complexity appropriate for the user's level (e.g., identifying if Teacher Assistants were modeling 3+ word phrases when the QVoicer was primarily using single words). Additionally, the chart allows the SLP to see which specific words or buttons the QVoicer has touched (independently or not).
The usage log can also help foster awareness and encourage consistent interaction with the device. Seeing the data provides objective feedback, which can motivate communication partners, like parents, to integrate the device more regularly into daily routines and conversations.
Important Note: The interpretation and application of this usage data are ultimately determined by the provider or clinical team. These tools are intended to offer insights and support communication goals. They should never be used to assign blame, or to cause shame or guilt for the AAC user, parents, or caregivers. Data should always be used constructively and supportively.
