Auto-Rules:

Automate Pathways for Faster Learning & Communication


The new Auto-Rules feature lets you create powerful automations to speed up communication, boost engagement during teaching, and help users learn language faster. Think of it as programming smart shortcuts that anticipate the next move, making interactions more fluid and intuitive.


How It Works

Each Auto-Rule you create has two simple parts: a Trigger (the "when") and an Action (the "then").


1. Set Your Trigger: This is the event that starts the Auto-Rule. You can trigger an Auto-Rule:

  • When a specific button is pressed (e.g., the "EAT" button).

  • When a button of a specific grammar type is pressed (e.g., any "PRONOUN").

2. Choose Your Action: This is what happens automatically after the Trigger. You can set an Action to:

  • Open a folder (e.g., instantly navigate to your "FOODS" folder).

  • Speak immediately (e.g., read the button name out loud).


Example Auto-Rules:

Auto-RuleDescription
If GO button is pressed, then open the MY PLACES folder.
If PRONOUN or PEOPLE NOUN buttons are pressed, then open the WANT folder.
If the EAT button is pressed, then open the FOODS folder and speak the button name immediately.

Start creating your own Auto-Rules in the Q Menu > Preferences > Automations today!


Accessing Auto-Rules

1. Open the Q Menu by long pressing on the Q on the top left corner of the screen
2. Tap on Preferences.
3.  Under Automations > Rules, you'll see the list of Auto-Rule prefilled for you.  Just enable them and watch the magic.

Better yet, create your own Auto-Rule!!
You can also add Auto-Rule while editing a button.  


NOTE: 

  • Please note: Each button can have only one Auto-Rule. This design helps prevent conflicting automations and ensures everything works predictably.
  • You can only use buttons as triggers.
